Manifesto

Quoll aims to empower everyone that has always had the thought of helping others and donate to do just that, without the hassle of picking a specific project or cause and more importantly taking the time to find the right charity and vetting them.

My Role

Quoll is a startup in the initial prototyping stage of development, my role is to work with the founders to visualise and solidify their concepts and ideas into designs.

My role included:

  • Product/UX/UI design

  • Explore UX design options and ideas

  • Product direction

The Problem

On average only about 40-45% of the money donated to charities around the world get used for the cause or the project that they were meant to. The rest gets sucked up by administrative costs, further fundraising and marketing overheads.

Quoll’s aim is to change this number. Eventually, we want as much as 95% of every dollar donated reaching the cause. Some of our lofty aspirations include developing tools to help charities reduce their operating costs in favour of focusing on the cause.

Transparency is one of Quoll core values. To combat the misuse of funds in the charity industry, and to establish trust for all parties involved, all the transactions going through the system (donations and fund deployments) are accessible for everyone to see. You can also look through all the details of the charity and project that we used to vet them, the only exception will be in cases where the divulging of said information could present a security risk for the charity or their personnel.

Solution

Working with the founders, my goal is to translate their core values and concepts into the designs to help them visualise and solidify their ideas and find solutions to their problems.

To ensure transparency, simplicity and ease of use, below are some of the things we seek achieve:

  • Ensure each step of the donation process are clear and that the user is given all the necessary information they need to decide if the donation is right for them

  • Establish trust by ensure users have easy access to all transaction data in the system

  • Ensuring users can easily find and access the information and data they want to see

  • Personalised dashboard for them to see how their donation is being used

  • Ensure the landing page clearly explain how Quoll works, educate and guide the user through the donating process

  • Clear and simple navigation

  • Charity profiles

  • Quolls rating and reviews of the chosen charities
