Context
Teleprompt. is a teleprompter app design for content creators. To make it easier for creators to deliver their speech while filming themselves using their phone, iPad and along with camera teleprompter accessories. The app is designed for both iPhone and iPads and also for using it with teleprompter attachment for cameras. With the creator economy growing exponentially, more people than ever are filming themselves creating video contents. Temprompt. aims to help creators create content faster easier and beginner creators take their first step in their creators' journey by making filming and delivering lines easier than ever.
The Project
The goal of this project was to explore how a teleprompter app can be made easier and simpler. Taking the concept from ideation to development stage, ready for hand over to developers.
Audience
Teleprompt. is for:
Any content creator with an iPhone or iPad
Beginner content creators learning how to create, delivering script while filming themselves.
Content creators having trouble with “free” talking/ improvising in front of a camera
Educators and teachers, anybody who wants to film and deliver long-form content.
The Problem
Teleprompter apps in the current market are clunky, usually overblown by complex features and therefore making them not user friendly. Below is a list of problems that have been identified through researching and using existing teleprompter apps and from asking content creators what they look for in a teleprompter app.
Bad user experience, clunky, confusing to use
Video recording is overlaid by text/script, therefore hard to see what is being filmed
Overblown with “unnecessary” features
Solution
Below are ideas and solutions to the problems identified:
Simplify the UX, reduce complexity
Built-in video recorder along with a script display
A split mode that contains both the script and video recorder
Responsive design to allow creators to use the app on any iOS devices
Text editing to allow creators to edit their script how they like, making it as easy as possible for the creator to read their script
Text sizing adjustment - Allowing creators to read their script at any distance from the device

It was important to design the app to work on all iPhone and iPad sizes. To allow the teleprompter app to be used for a variety of situations such as:
On the go content creation with a phone
Indoor studio environment, delivering well thought out long-form content, using an iPad for bigger text and ease of reading
Be able to use with any different size camera teleprompter accessories, some can fit an iPad and some can only fit a phone
